Though IB and AP both are recognized globally but AP is more popular among students than IB. AP offers most of the courses at one level whereas IB offers courses at high level and standard level. IB focusses more on writing and broad education whereas AP offers you a flexibility. If you are towards extracurricular activities, then AP is for you but if you want to be selective towards school then go for IB as it is a diploma program. Most of the universities give credit to IB higher level courses but not to standard level courses whereas all AP courses are given credit so if you choose same subject in IB for both higher and standard level as compared to AP then credit for AP would be higher. Some high schools also consider IB higher level course harder than AP which means that a score of B is equivalent to a score of A in AP. So as per your academic preference, you can decide what course you want to choose.
